Hi,

It looks like it depends on the model of the Iomega eGo.   Check out this compatibility chart from Microsoft and see what it lists for your specific model.

I checked the compatibility chart and found my model is compatible - model RPHD-UG3.  I uninstalled the Iomega software and connected the hard drive to the laptop to reinstalled the program.   The drive is not being recognized.

Hi,

You don't mention which model of Dell laptop you're connecting to.   And in that laptop, when you go to Device Manager, (type Device Manager into the search Window to find Device Manager), do you see any bangs or warnings on any of the drivers?

Laptop model Inspiron 15 3543.  I checked Device Manager and I did not see any warnings.

The eGo hard drive works with my other laptop that has Windows 7.  I'll just get another external drive for this laptop.
