My 7270 latitude touch screen stopped working shortly after first use (after win update worked again but for a short time).
All drivers are up to date.
In device manager a USB device shows as unknown (yellow warning triangle), otherwise there are no indications to the source of the problem. There is no other touch screen device showing in device manager.
How do I perminently solve this?
I'm assuming windows 10 is on the system...
Please power off system, remove all peripherals such as printer, Scanner, Media Card Reader, Small Media cradles (iPod, PDA, MP3 player, etc.), Digital Cameras and Video Recorders, USB storage devices, and CDs or DVDs from all optical drives. Remove AC adapter, wait about 15 minutes, and then power on system. Hopefully touchscreen work normally.
If touchscreen still isn't fix:
Please right click the USB device that showing the yellow warning triangle, and then update it.
15min power-off: (with nothing connected)
- This didn't fix the problem.

A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
- Along this report - the HID Touchscreen device is missing in the device manager.
- It seems that the system fails to properly recognize the HID Touchscreen drivers and catagorizes them as said problem.
I am searching for a solution to re-recognize the HID touchscreen drivers.
Found solution (Hope this is a permanent fix):
1. Go into Device Managaer
2. Uninstall Unknown USB Device,
3. Click Scan for hardware changes.
Thats it - The system properly detects the drivers in HID, and touchscreen works.
I have the same problem and I have already tried all those steps (I am an IT professional), plus I called the support and they tried the same steps again and again.
They told me to reinstall Windows, which I did, and now here I am with NO touchscreen and NO HID in device manager.
You Dell app is not finding any missing driver and Windows is up to date.
can you please explain little more how you managed to fix it. i am having same issue with DELL inspiron 5378.. what is NTRIG
