Windows 10 Update Problem

Question

Hi.. I am unable to update my windows 10 after 4 may.....actually i has not used my laptop since then... now my windows 10 update settings take time to open and sometimes get closed automatically...whenever i open Check for update dialog box everytime update app launches but it starts NOT RESPONDING and then closes automatically....also the updates do not get downloaded....every times i open update section it says '0% downloading updates'...it is as if the update software is corrupted or something.....my laptop functioning is also disturbed because of this... also few updates show error.....update app also responds very sowly...... Any Help....??????

I like to suggest you run the System file checker. It scan for any corrupted system files that could be causing problems and fix those corrupt files as well.

a) Press Windows key + X key at the same time, select Command prompt (Admin)

b) In the command prompt type the following command: sfc/scannow and press enter

If no corrupted system files were found , then I would suggest you try the following steps:

a) Select Command prompt (Admin)

b) In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command....

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

I also like to suggest you use the troubleshooting tool on your computer:

1. Type troubleshooting control panel onto the (Cortana) search bar, click on "View All ", and the windows update. You can click on System Maintenance as well, see picture below.....
