Windows 10 blue screen - BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO

Question

Decided to upgrade my Dell Inspiron laptop to Windows 10, was running 7 on it. The install process seemed to go smoothly up until I had to login for the first time. PC would crash every time I input my password or click next. I ended up downloading the Win10 usb install option to see if I could repair installation, did not work - now it boots into the blue screen error BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO Anyone had a similar issue? Is there a work-around I can do via the CMD? Hard drive is okay from what I can tell since I can boot into Ubuntu and see all my windows files.Also crashes when trying to boot in safe mode via repair.

Exact same from problem. Windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10.  Can access HDD using DOS prompt to copy off some key files.

Try advanced options. I don't know how to write this in English but there is an option where you can get your notebook back to another restore point based on the last update. That worked for me. Hope you can understand me. Bye!

OP here, I ended up just running Linux - unless you need to run the latest Windows games I recommend Mint Linux :D

My Windows 10  administrators screen does not have a or  a line? Is there a different edit procedure for Windows 10 and the bad_system_config_info problem?
