How to fix Windows 8 apps that won't load ?

When trying to launch Windows 8 apps, there are a few things you will want to check first. As a standard, Windows 8 apps cannot be run from the local administrator account. You will need to create a new user with administrator privileges and the apps should launch just fine. Also, if you have your machine joined to a domain, you will want to ensure you are using any account aside from the domain administrator account as well. I just bought a new Dell laptop with windows 8 installed as its operating system. This is not an upgrade to windows 8 from some other OS. Most of the apps that came on the computer won't load. They try then go back to the start screen. The apps I've loaded off my own programs are not giving me a problem, and not all the the apps on the computer are, just most of them. Based on what I've read this is  problem for this OS. I've done a restore point from an earlier date and and a complete system restore. Still the same thing happens. I'm really frustrated with this operating system and I understand whey it just about killed the computer market. Please help if you can. Some of the fixes that I've read about seem really complicated and some of the others had no affect at all. Keep in mind this is a brand new computer that I've had only a few days.I looked at the post above this one and am lost to know what it means.

If you have any anti-virus installed on the system, you may uninstall it completely and then check if you are able to open the applications.

Sometimes the McAfee Real Time Scanner causes a problem; however if you uninstalled McAfee for your troubleshooting, that isn't it. Have you reviewed the suggestions at these reliable sources?

For some posters above: the reason why your hard drive is locked is because you have an mSATA drive that Intel uses as cache for Windows. You can temporarily disable it by booting from a Linux Live CD and execute "sudo dmraid -E -r /dev/sdX" (where X = [a, b, c, d, e, f, ..., z]).

*Note: The apps that came with your PC or you installed from Windows Store will be reinstalled, but any apps you installed from other websites and DVDs will be removed. Windows puts a list of the removed apps on your desktop after refreshing your PC.
