4500S Shuts down and starts with serious error
Hey,
Osprey4 in first time users told me to disable automatic restart so I could write down the error and then go to XP forum:smileysad:. Did that. Not sure what the error is tho. Here's what the screen said.
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
IRQL_NOT__LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. (don't know how). If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need. ( I got this other monitor from someone but changed back bc of the problems but didn't help) If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. (Have no clue what that is) If yo need to use safe mode to remove or diable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options and then select safe mode.
Technical information:
***STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000028, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804F1B68)
Begining dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete
Contact your system administrator or Technical support group for further assistance.
So then I restarted and the screen said it was: Checking file system on C: This type of the file system is FAT32
One of your disks needs to be checked for consistancy. You may cancel the disk check but it is stronly recommended that you continue.
Then it listed a bunch of unrecoverable errors and that it took care of them and went on to restart so I couldn't write them down.
Hope someone can HELP..........
Thanx
L

Download, install and run this software, maybe it can identify the driver (if it is a driver causing this) that is causing this error.

Bad memory module(s) can cause this error, 2nd main reason besides a driver issue.
To test your memory and other hardware you can run the Dell diagnostics on your hardware, use F12 on reboot (at the Dell logo) to see if you have diagnostics in the F12 menu. Run the extended tests.
