A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to send data to the server. Account: , Server: 'incoming.verizon.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC13

I recieve the following error message when outlook Express attemptes to Send e-mail: A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to send data to the server. Account: ---------, Server: 'incoming.verizon.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC13.

I have searched Microsoft knowledge base and the articles that addressed the above error applied to Outlook and the solution did not work for Outlook Express. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

It would appear that your mail server is experiencing problems, or that the server incoming.verizon.net is not the correct name for the incoming mail server. Contact your ISP (which appears to be Verizon DSL, judging from the name of the domain), and inquire as to the status and name of the incoming email server. They should be able to lead you through configuration of Outlook Express should there need to be any changes made.

The server name is wrong.

The POP3 server (receiving)  is incoming.verizon.net.

The SMTP (or sending) server is outgoing.verizon.net
