If you already have an AIM screen name, try AIM Express. It works through a browser window. Nothing to download or install.

I am using the AIM Triton Instant messenger, with no issues as I never had any problems running any beta software.
The AIM Triton requirements are at least Windows 2000 Professional for an Operating system, which I have this messenger in 3 of my 4 operating systems working (I run a 4 operating system multiboot set up), and this instant messenger is working in 2000 Professional (with unofficial Service Pack 5), XP Home Edition SP2, and Xp Professional SP2 (the only operating system I do not have it loaded into is my 4 th operating system XP Pro x64.
