Uninstall AIM from the system completely. Then do a web search for Trillian. Its a software program made by creuleanstudios. Download this program and use it to log into your AIM/MSN/Yahoo/IRC Channels. I have never got a virus through AIM using this program.

 

You may want to download a better Anti-Virus program with a better active scanner. I would recommend Avast Home Ed. its 100% free from www.avast.com don't even have to pay for a subscription.
