AOL 9.0

Question

My Inspiron 8600 (purchased in 2005) came with AOL 9.0 Optimized already downloaded on it. I use it everyday and have never had trouble with it until now. I get a message that says the software is not working properly. All the 'help' boxes say to insert the disk and re-install...but...since it was downloaded from DELL, I have no disk. I did find it in the program files and there is a file that says download, but since I don't know that much about the inner workings, I am afraid to mess with it too much....also of note.....when I turned my laptop on from a complete shut down, all the setting for fonts, screen size etc had changed.....may or may not be related but thought it might be worth a mention.....I love my AOL and all my faves are set there....help me please!

I suggest going to http://daol.aol.com/software/ and download the latest version.

It is called AOL desktop now.

Uninstall all aol software first, choose to save personal settings to "desktop" during uninstall. You will have a folder called "Organize" on your desktop after uninstalling aol. During install it will put your "Favs and Address book" back,but i don't believe it save emails.

Not sure if your icon issue is related or if it is another problem all together. It could be "Video Drivers" issues.
