Accidentally deleted windows components!

I was trying to get rid of Windows messenger from the add'remove windows components but I actually got rid of evrything apart from that! Now when I try and add the components again it says it needs a CD? Is there any way I can get the components back without restoring my computer?
Thanks

Try system restore (part of XP, not Dell's restore) in System tools folder. Assuming you had it turned on, choose a restore point to a time before you uninstalled all those components. This will not affect your personal files, it just restores system and program files to what they were at the time of the chosen restore point.

If you don't have a restore point then you will need an XP CD. If one did not come with your PC, it would still be worth asking Dell for one.

In add/remove Windows components, items currently installed are marked as checked. Items that are not currently installed are unchecked. Checking an as yet uninstalled item and proceeding will install it. Unchecking a currently installed item will uninstall it. Items for which you do not change the checkbox are not affected either way (those currently checked remain installed, those currently unchecked remain uninstalled).

THANK YOU!! One more question (sorry!)...Where would system tools be found on the computer?

siddy_2006,

The System Tools folder is located at Start|All Programs|Accessories|System Tools (or in Windows Explorer at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools).
