I am not sure whether the drivers you have on your CD would work in XP, but XP may have native drivers for it, according to the comment on a driver download site:

hanks so much for the driver info. I am just gonna put in CD and see what happens, and go from there. Will let you know what I come up with. Not real smart in this catagory!!!

You could try just connecting the scanner to the PC and restart, see if XP recognises it and installs a driver (and that the scanner works).
