Acrobat Reader 6.0.1 not loading

I am having problems with Acrobat Reader 6.0.1. For the past few weeks, the Reader will not load and must be forced to quit. The error shows a Font Capture problem. I have deleted the program and reinstalled several times. Is there anyone that is having the same or similar problem? Is there anyone who knows how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

When you reinstalled, did you restart windows before reinstalling?  If not, uninstall, restart Windows and then go the Adobe site and download and install the latest full version 6.1.1  which is later than what you have.

I followed your advice and the program still wont load. The latest version on the Adobe website is 6.0.1. Any other suggestions.

Version 4.0 works fine on my xp. I used 5.0.5 without problems on Millenium.

Again, thanks for the info. I got both the 4.0 and the 5.0 version loaded and now they will open but will not open any pdf pages. The error is now saying that a temp file could not be found.

Thanks for all the help. The program is still not working correctly and I think that there is more of a problem than just the program.

If you have 2 versions of the same program installed on the same partition neither one is likely to work. Uninstall either, reboot and try again.

This *should* work. Leave out the registry deletion if desired.

Uninstall latest version (in Add/Remove).
Reboot. Check for any other versions of AR in Add/Remove; there shouldn't be.
Regedit/delete AR
ReStart in Safe Mode
EndTask your AV
Install desired version
