ActiveX & Adobe Flash 9 Problems

Ok so, In order for me to use www.ijji.com properly, I need adobe flash 9. When I installed, where it was supposed to give me a notification, quotation marks appeared instead. I am using IE to access ijji because they don't allow firefox to connect to their games. However the flash on their site only works on firefox for me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash 9 many times as well as gone back to and older version of IE and installed Macromedia Flash 8. I've also restored my computer back about 3 months. I've also run a few computer scans, and my registry and activex files have shown up with problems. However none of these "free" fixes are free after they tell you how many problems you have. I'm running on Windows XP SP2. Any help?

You may be blocking active X in IE options/advanced, your AV/Firewall, or antispy programs. This would account for the behavior you describe. You need to specifically allow active X for the game page and for Adobe. I don't have enough information from you to be more specific.

Somebody else posted a similar kind of problem about 1 month ago, and another member posted a solution from the Adobe website. So either search these forums or go to the Adobe site and look for some suggestions.

The problem was when Macromedia was sold to Adobe, and adobe updated to Adobe Flash 9. They forget to fix the "void" bug that came with running it in IE versions 5,6,7(?) I decided I'd install a previous version of IE (Don't know if this actually helped, but I am currently using version 6) Then I downloaded the Adobe Flash 9 uninstaller from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe
After that, I went to start > run > regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHIENE > software > Macromedia and then deleted the folder called Safefolder. Did a system restart and then downloaded Adobe Flash 7

It has been suggested above that you search in Adobe support. Try this link and others like it in Adobe Support for flash player 9 at www.adobe.com. http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=4a8d52ae
