Address Book Import/Export grayed out

In my Outlook 2000 address book, the import and export under the file menu are greyed out. I can't export my email info to create email business cards and I can't export to save addresses nor can I import anything.

It's grayed out in my Outlook 2000 also.  If you do a search in the Outlook 2000 help file for "e mail business cards" it will tell you how to do it from the "Contacts" folder.

I just went to the options you mention and guess what?

Outlook stationary/fonts buttons & signature buttons are also greyed out and don't work

OK, got part of this solved, stationary and signature buttons were greyed out because I had MS Word checked above as the default email editor. I can now create an electronic v-card going this route, but I would still like to get my address book import/export working, it's still greyed out and not available.

thanks,

If you select the Contacts folder, then highlight any entry and then right click on that entry you should get an option to "forward as v card".

I use the import/export feature under the "File" drop down menu for importing or exporting folders or the Contacts (address book) file.  That is what I used when I moved the contacts list from an old computer to a new PC.  Exported the Outlook 2000 Contacts folder as a file and then a "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" file to the hard drive and then burned a CD to move to my new PC.
