William,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Is that the only web page it happens with?
Have you scanned your system for spyware using Ad-Aware or Spybot?
You may want to try installing the Java Virtual Machine update.
Java Virtual Machine Download Links.

When I click on your link it opens at http://www.tripod.lycos.com/ with no problems.

Ditto if I type in www.tripod.com

Do you get the problem if you insert .lycos in the URL?

William,

I saw two others who reported a similar problem.  For both of them, the Microsoft VM section was no longer visible under 'Internet Options' > 'Advanced'.  The theories range from a virus, to spyware, to a problem in the displayed ads, to the latest MSN update.  By any chance, are you using MSN?  That was the only common feature that they seemed to share.

One person suggested using Mozilla.org browser and see if it worked correctly.

Here's the other thread:

Karell,

Thank you for your help. The Java Virtual Machine update solved the problem.

Jason98036,

Thank you for your help. I do have MSN as well. Thanks for letting me know about the people with the problem. I knew it wasn't just me. I also was missing the Microsoft VM section. The reason it is not there I found out, by reading the info at the update site, is that Microsoft and Sun had a legal dispute. Microsoft had to remove their VM.
