Another Dell Factory Restore Question

Hello

I have a dell xps l702x. I upgraded to Windows 8 and needed to perform a factory restore.

So I reinstalled WIndows 7 manually with the Dell Install Disk. I this point I still have the dell recovery partition and the image file still exists.

Now I try to F8 > Advanced Boot Option > Repair, the option for Dell Datasafe Restore and Emergency Backup does not show up.

I assume something needs to be installed to add that option to the windows restore options. Any idea what that is?

Again, the restore partition still exists and has never been touched.

Thank you.

If an OS has been manually installed or the system partitions altered than the recovery partition no longer functions and does not show up in the F8 menu.

Did reformatting the boot partition ruin the Datasafe Restore setup?

In one post you write the restore partition is still there, and now you write that you formatted it.

So which is it?

I wrote that the boot partition was formatted. The restore partition is intact.
