Any issues I should know about before upgrading to windows 7????
I am getting ready to upgrade from vista to 7. I figured that I better find out if there are any issues with 7 before I do so.

rlugo29,
Try using the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and it should tell you what issues you'll have. If you have the disks from Dell, The Dell Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant DVD is what you should try using.

It would help if we knew what Dell computer you have.

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1545 with vista installed
The windows 7 discs are in the mail. So, I have not started the upgrade yet. I just wanted to know if there was any major issues out there with windows 7 before I start the upgrade.

rlugo29,
Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor it will give you a rough idea of any issues you might have. Download any drivers you think you might need. If no Windows 7 drivers available, then you should download the Vista drivers and install them in the compitibility mode.
It is usually a pretty smooth transition except for a few items. I had issues with my Webcam and fingerprint reader and used the compitibility mode and everything works fine.
Right click on the setup.exe file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista(I used Vista SP2). Then install the proper drivers.

I ran the windows 7 upgrade adviser but I have no idea what it's telling me (I'm not too tech savvy) . So, I took some screen shots and maybe someone can explain it to me. Also, how do I know what drivers I need to download and where do I get them?

After clicking reply, click on the icon that looks like a movie strip (third from the bottom right).

I have only run into 1 issue and have found it to be the case on EVERY computer that I have installed it on. The issue is that it is more stable and runs faster than everything else.

The only thing that could be worse than that is two Victoria Secret models coming over to install it on my *HARDDRIVE*
