Anyone aware of any problems installing Windows XP Service pack 3 on a Dell Latitude D830?
I have Service Pack 2. I have a vague possibly hopefully incorrect memory that a Dell Tech person had told me the D830 would not handle Service Pack 3? Please tell me my memory is incorrect. McAfee says I need it to keep running their products. And Dell Diagnostics tells me I need for some of their drive updates.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 reaches End of Life in April.
Likely McAfee will begin ditching XP like Intel:
The system will handle
It is highly recommended you ditch Windows XP and install a modern version of Windows.
For more information see Windows Reinstallation Guide/A Clean Install of Windows 7/8.1:

Use these drivers for Windows 7 and 8.1 (ignoring OS updates and system utilities):

There is no reason it won't run SP3 ... we ran SP3 on our D830's for a few years before upgrading to Windows 7. Microsoft ended support for SP2 years ago and will end support for SP3 in April, so I guess you won't be in any worse shape in April than you are now. If you have the means to upgrade to a modern and supported OS, the D830 runs Windows 7 just fine.
