Backup and Recovery fails to start
Hi there all,
I was wondering if someone could help or at least shed some light on this problem.
I try to start up "Dell Backup and Recovery" and it fails to start with the message "Dell Backup and Recovery encountered a problem and needs to close. We are Sorry for the inconvenience."
It used to work in the past, then all of a sudden it stopped. I wanted to do a backup as it is requesting me to do so and it now fails.
I am wondering if it is a problem with my partitions, I haven't changed them in any way, but it seems that I have an extra partition to a colleague with a similar but not the same dell computer.
Thank you very much all if anyone could help this would be excellent.

Dell BU program seemed to be corrupted. Uninstall it and download and reinstall it. Get the correct/same version and reinstall. It should be the same version as when the computer was new. You can use the built in windows version of Backup instead.

Hi Mary,
Thanks for your answer so far.
I already tried un-installing and re installing. But you mention to use the same version that was installed when the computer was new. How do I find out which version when the computer was new? As I have already installed a different version.

If I installed the oldest version 1.7.5 it at least seemed to start, I didn't try running anything else. What is odd though I am sure I used a newer version to make a backup of my system when I first had the system.
Thank you very much for your help and answer and I will mark it as answered as installing the oldest version seemed to work.
Fortunately for me this exercise has proven that I don't need any of Dell software especially the backup and recovery and I have removed it all.
