Base System Device
Hi..
I installed Windows XP with service pack 2 in my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop. Earlier in this computer Windows Vista was there. I downloaded drivers from DELL website and are installed. Still, in the Computer Manager, there are 3 YELLOW COLOURED QUESTION MARKS i.e.. Base System Device (PCI bus 3, device 1, function 4); Base System Device (PCI bus 3, device 1, function 2) and Base System Device (PCI bus 3, device 1, function 3). It indicates some drivers are required to fulfill the criteria.
I, therefore, request you to kindly help me to fix this problem.
Thanks
MBKP

Mbkp,
Did you install both the Intel and Ricoh Chipset drivers found on the Vostro 1500 driver download site: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WW1&osl=EN&catid=-1&impid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=VOS_N_1500&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en
See this for the order in which drivers should be installed: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&docid=1A0C0937D62A8739E0401E0A55174744&l=en&s=gen
The Notebook System Software download should have been downloaded and installed also.
Tony
Are there any devices that do not seem to be working correctly?
