Blue Screen after running Norton removal tool

Question

I ran the Norton removal tool on my wife's Inspiron 9300 with Xp media. After uninstall completed I restarted and got the blue screen " Stop C000021a Fatal system error the system process terminated unexpectedly

with status of Oxc000003a (Ox00000000 Ox00000000) the system has been shut down." I tried to boot to safe mode & Last known good start up but can not get past the blue screen. I'm hoping there is a way to save some pictures and a few files that are some what important to her. I would be grateful for any help.

Yes I have goback & it was a problem from the beginning. I tried to uninstall with no success so it was just disabled, & thats why I was running the removal tool from Symantec.

When I would click on 'system works' then Remove from add remove programs It would freeze up or just keep running but never unistalling, so I just disabled goback. After reading through Symantec support I found the only way I was going to get rid of goback was to run there removal tool. When I did, it said the removal was successful restart the computer. I did and thats when the blue screen started.

I got it to go into safe mode and from there system restore worked.
