Blue Tooth Error

I have an Inspiron, run XP Pro and recently upgraded with Microsoft’s Service Pack 2. I had no trouble hotsyncing my Palm TunstenT with Blue Tooth until I did this. Now I get the following message: "BTTRAY ERROR: Unable to start the Blue Tooth stack service." When I try to hotsync, my Palm also tells me that the Blue Tooth port is being used by another service. Any suggestions?

I had same problem. Removed Blue Tooth from add/remove programs and re-ran Dell upgrade. Setup provided several different screens from first time and it worked fine.

Hi, i also have this problem after installing service pack 2. What do u mean by installing the Dell upgrade again? i have a dimension 8250. I've reinstalled the software that came with the bluetooth dongle. Is there other more fundamental software that needs reinstalling? thanks.

I have a Latitude D800 that came with Bluetooth installed. I installed SP2 without cheking with Dell first, so I was unaware of a Bluetooth upgrade. Installing the Dell upgrade failed, until I completely uninstalled the Bluetooth driver and then installed the upgraded version.
