Can't open folders, my computer or control panel

Hey guys,

 

I hope someone can help. This began last weekend, I am unable to open folders, my computer, and control panel. I click a folder on my desktop, screen flickers, then closes some screens, but internet explorer works fine. Each time this happens it asks me to send an error report, which i do. I have ran my antiviral software 3 times with an updated virus definition files. I have looked online, but nothing has worked. I really do not want to reformat my computer. Someone please help.
