I do not know of anything that Dell could do specifically to cause or fix that particular problem.
Did you install the software with the account you are trying to use to uninstall them? My first thought was that you were not using an account with admin rights.
The programs you list are "extras" that are not part of the printer/scanner programs. They should not interfere. You could always go to registry, back it up and search for HP and delete everything that shows up. Back up registry first in case things go wrong.
In reply: I tried to uninstall with the same programs that I used to install. I don't know anything about administrative priveleges.
I don't know how to use safe mode to try to uninstall from there.
I looked up "wareseeker uninstall" and it sounded like that needs to be on the computer, running, when a program is installed. It sounds like a maintenence program?
I don't know how to go to Registry. I did use a Registry repair program which didn't help.
Do any of you know about those uninstall programs? I found Perfect Uninstall on many sites but I cannot find any information about cost. I know that they scan for free but then you must buy the program to fix the problem.
Do you think that that program will fix the problem? I think the problem is the result of many install, uninstall attempts that I used trying to get all of the HP units to work properly.
Sorry to hear about your problem. That happened to me with a HP Photosmart C4280 all in one; However, it was with the main app and not with the add on like in your case. I had to go to the registry and delete everything I found on HP, as suggested above by paindoc. Since it is a delicate work to do, let´s try another thing.
Install and run CCleaner, do sweep and repair registry, do not change anything in the program and back up your repair registry:
Install again only one of your HP "standard installation" Disconnect the printer and connect it only when the installation prog. tells you to do it. If successful try to uninstall the add on first ( the ones you mention are still in your PC) and then the main app. You can uninstall then through START/ALLPrograms/HP. Then do the same with the other HP.
If all this fail try doing a safe mode rebooting like davet50 suggested, reboot your PC and star tapping F8 when the Dell logo shows up. choose safe mode from the list. It is a little funny the display. do not matter. try to uninstall again.
You need to be the administrator to do all this. Make sure of this.
Another program (free) you may try is Revo Uninstaller. I use option 3 and do not reboot your PC until you get to the end of the uninstall:

You can also try booting into Safe mode and try uninstalling there.
Try this program

Get to Safe Mode by starting the computer and push F8 key repeatedly. Select Administrator and Safe Mode by using arrows and the Enter Key.
