Try renaming the file extension.

Example:

"animation.bmp"

To

"animation.gif"

Worth a shot.

How do I rename the file extension.

When I go to save as:  I can name the file, but there is a drop down menu for the type of file.
I'm thinking it use to have several lines on the drop down menu, now there is only
All Files [*.*] or Bitmap Files [*.BMP]

I did find some of these animations in my folder - downloaded from AOL (which I guess they go to
when I open mail)  They were animated there and I can moved them to a folder or leave them there and
they are animated, but I have to go in and rename them so I will know what they are cause they have
odd names in there, mostly #'s and stuff.

I guess I will just have to live with it like that.

Put ".gif" after the name.   instead of "picture", name it "picture.gif" (without quotes)

Ignore the bottom line.

That worked.  I just never had to do it that way before.  Don't know what caused it to have to do it that way now.  But don't matter, as long as I know how to get it there.

Thanks so much for your help!

You are welcome. :)

I have a friend who sends me pics (she has AOL) and when I save the pics, they are just data files. I rename them with the file extension and they work.
