Cannot Uninstall Silverlight 1.0

DELL E-310 - 3.06 Ghz. Prescott @ 2 GB DDR2 - 533 FSB - 3500 MB Virtual Memory

Windows XP Home SP3 v.3264 - Intel 10/100/1000 Ethernet - Cox.net @ 25Mb Download, 4 Mb Upload - McAfee Total Protection - IE7 - Windows Defender - Diskeeper Home

Microsoft Silverlight 1.0 and Silverlight 1.0.30109.0 will not function and cannot be uninstalled.

Windows Update keeps sending updates (KB951213) and (KB955305) which download, but will not install.

Update History shows that the files are installed, but "Search" cannot find them, and the Windows Update feature doesn't "see" tham -- so they keep re-appearing in the "Install New Updates" Icon.

I have tried re-validating, and also the command-prompt "regsrv32 xxxxx.dll" list given elsewhere -- all command prompts on the list were successful, but the problem persists.

 There has GOT to be a way to get rid of the Silverlight curse, but I'm wore out ---

 Please throw me a life preserver --- I'm going down for the 3rd time !!!
