Cannot load secure web pages - 'page cannot be found error'

Question

Whenever I try to load a secure web page (Yahoo mail for example), I get a 'Page Cannot be Found' error message. I'm running Windows XP, Explorer 6.0.29 with 128-bit encryption. Cleaned out cahce and all that stuff, but the problem happens in ALL 3 web browsers I have.   Is this an XP issue? If so, how do I fix?   Thanks.

You should check the firewall settings on your computer.  It is possible that is preventing the page from loading.  Also, if it is a computer such as at work, it might have a content filter, having blocked sites.  If it was purchased second hand, that could also be the problem.  It might also be a virus protection program.  Those can sometimes block sites you don't want blocked.  You could also check into the IE options and see if the sites are blocked in there. Nope. I also have a laptop using the same connection and there's no issue. I believe it is a problem with Windows XP, but not sure how to correct

Do you have a firewall installed other than the one that came with XP?  If so disable it and try to connect.  I had this problem with IE6.  However,  firefox would work ok with it.
