Cannot reinstall Windows XP

Last night I decided to install Fedora Core 4 on my computer. In doing so, I deleted Windows XP from my computer. When trying to reinstall Windows XP, the following happened:

I booted the Windows XP reinstall CD. I got the message press any key to boot from CD. A message about inspecting my hardware configurations came up. Then I get a black screen. I do not know what the problem could be since I have reinstalled before. Please help!

did you change the bios to boot from the cd?

I fixed it. I just formatted the hard drive with a Ubuntu distribution and then tried booting XP CD again. Then it booted and I was able to reinstall. I'm happily booting XP again. I'm not planning on using Linux ever again.

The Ubuntu distro is fairly straight forward but I would agee that Linux is not for the faint at heart.
