Paolo2020,

To save a notepad file as html include the entire file name in quotation marks in the filename box on the "Save" dialog, i.e. "Thisfile.html". In order for the file to work, of course, you have to input the raw html tags. You should be able to save a Word document as an HTML file without any additional steps. My copy of Word97 allows me to save Word documents directly to HTML (although Word does not do an acceptable job of the conversion for my tastes).

I am using Windows XP and use notepad to write HTML. Just open notepad and write your code. Select File> save as> type the name of the file and add .html extension. Save to a folder. Open the folder and right click on the file> open with> select IE and check always open this type file with this program. When you double click the file, it should open IE and display the html. I have never had problems using this method.
