Cisco VPN Client

Hey everyone.

I just got my new D630 and love it.  The other day I was installing the VPN Client for vista and while it was installing I was doing some other stuff and long story short I got the blue screen and my computer restarted.  The VPN install was like 90 something % complete.  The icons and folder under program files for cisco is there, but when i run the program it says, " The action is only valic for products that are currently installed."

So i figure I need to reinstall it.  I go to do that and it says Error 28000 and basically says I have to uninstal the existing version before I can instal a new version.

The add/remove programs list does not display this program.

I tried using RegSupreme - if i click the icon for software manager - it shows the Cisco VPN Client program - I hit uninstal and it says successfully removes 0 files and a couple reg keys.  But then it moves the Cisco program to the top of the list of programs - I now click uninstal and it prompts me saying it will remove the folder from the Program Files.  I click ok and it says access denied (same message as when I to physically delete this folder from the Program Files folder).  I have run this as Administrator and get the same message.

I also tried the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and it doesnt even show the VPN Client program in the list.

So at this point I have no clue what I can do other than doing a fresh OS install - which I dont want to do and dont have time for.  Im getting ready for an event where I will be on the opposite side of the country, so I need to get this up and running now.

Thanks in advance for any help! :smileyhappy:

You may want to call Cisco for support.  Do a restore to a time before the install.  When you reinstall Cisco, turn off your AV and Firewall.  You can also search for Cisco files and remove them by hand if this does not help. Then, after making a copy of registry, do a search in registry and remove Cisco items.
