Clean XP Pro Install will not boot

Good day to all,
I have a DELL Latitude C610, Model PP01L.  It did have Windows 2000 installed but I have just formatted my hard drive and installed Windows XP Pro.  The install went flawlessly until it did it's final reboot after installing everything.  During the part on booting when the blue bar scrolls across the bottom with Microsoft Windows XP shown in the centre of a black screen it froze.  I rebooted and it froze at this point again.  I rebooted once more but used Safe mode instead and it loaded up ok and took me to the desktop.  This tells me it is a driver issue but which one?  I am writing this in the hope that someone has already had this issue and knows exactly what driver is causing the lock up on booting.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

How long did you let it set at the freeze point, was there any hard drive activity light blinking during the freeze?

It sat for a good 10 minutes with no HDD activity at all.  I rebooted it after getting to the desktop in Safe Mode and it hung again.
Is there a log that I can check to see when it hung?  Such as what the computer was doing or what driver was being loaded when it happened.

I have never used this method, but it looks like what you need to do

Thanks for the assistance.
I ended up updating the BIOS to the latest version and doing another clean install and it's working perfectly now.

Thanks again.
