One cause could be an infection--virus or spyware. Read and post over at the Virus/spyware forum for more specific help. Have you run your antivirus and antispyware scans?

Hi Mary ,

Yes , my anti-virus tool (McAfee) is constantly

updated and and i have run several scans .

Wouldn't this problem happen everytime i tried

to close a window if it were a virus ?

Thanks for taking the time to respond !

I appreciate the suggestion .

Happens to me too sometimes, I think it might be faulty website coding that IE isn't parsing correctly and ends up spawning infinite windows ....

Just close it and move on I guess

Closing it and moving on is not an option ....

Before i can react and get to the start button

to shut down the computer , the window count

is near 30 and still going .

It happens that fast !

Fortunately , I have not experienced the flooding

problem for about a week now .

I'm sure it's not solved ..... but merely in stasis .

BTW .... No i haven't been cruising the porn sites ... lol
