Computer has started beeping when I access web page
Yesterday I was surfing the net, and I think one of the web sites I visited put something on my computer that causes it to beep annoyingly every time I now access a new web page.
I have rebooted several times, deleted all my cookies and thebeep is still there.
Is there any way I can find out what was done to my hard drive and how to fix it? I'd also love to report these people who put the beep on my computer.
Thanks.

Also, run a virus scan with your anti-virus software.
You could also try System Restore to a time before the problem started, but a good idea to run a virus and spyware scan.

Did the Spybot thing already. It didn't find anything. Also did a virus scan. Nothing.
Will look into system restore.
Thanks.

It is now a couple of weeks since this problem started. I have tried to go back to an earlier system point, but the computer says nothing has changed in my system files since before the beep started. I have run Spybot and norton antivirus. They detect nothing. I have deleted all cookies. Still, every time I use Internet Explorer and chenge to a new web page, I get this beep.
There has to be a way to figure out what is causing this annoying sound. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
