Computer won't start up

I have an Inspiron 600m.  When I tried to start my computer I got the following message.

 

"We apologize for any inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully.  A recent hardware or software change might have caused this."  My options are:

 

Start in safe mode

Safe mode with networking

Safe mode with command prompt

Last known good configuration (most recent setting that worked)

Start windows normally

 

No matter which mode I choose. nothing happens.

 

Does anybody have any ideas what happened andwhat I can do to fix this? 

Windows came preloaded on the computer
