Converting WPS files back to Word or Works Files

Question

My new Dimension 4600C came loaded with Word Perfect.  My previous computer had Works and Word.  When I transferred all my files from the old computer to the new one the files were changed to Word Perfect files.  I cannot use them in this format as they have computer gibberish at the top of each file page.  Can these files be converted back to Works or Word files?

Have you tried saving as a MSWord DOC in WordPerfect?  I don't have the latest WP version but I know older versions would save in some MSWord formats.  But, they are not 100% coversions.  Same way, MSWord will import some WP version files.  Check your MSWord and see which WP versions it will import and then see if your WP will save in an older WP version then you can import them.  But, again it's not a 100% clean import, there may be a couple of garbled words and some control characters.
