Corrupt Connection-specific DNS Suffix

Question

Running Vista Home Premium on Dell Inspiron 530; randomly (1-2 times per day to 1-5 times per week) I lose connection with the Internet (page cannot be displayed) as well as with other computers in our local home network. IPCONFIG shows strange characters for "Connection-specific DNS Suffix" (see below) - have to reboot PC to recover, then the "Connection-specific DNS Suffix" looks normal. Ideas/Suggestions?????

Strange characters indeed, I have always disabled TCP/IP v6 on all my Vista installations and used Open DNS as my dns servers in my router.   I am getting a few website cannot be found errors, but i atribute this to high traffic websites having problems handling the Christmas traffic.
