Creating a driver disk
I have been trying to create a driver disk for a Dell Dimension 3000, but have had no luck. Friend reformatted the hard drive & there was no back up disk made. Have reinstalled Windows Xp Pro, there are several drivers missing, including audio, video & networking or ethernet drivers. When I try to download the drivers I get the download manager, so I download it & save it then go to download the drivers and it just keeps saying that there are no drivers downloaded. What am I doing wrong??
I would like to mention that I am trying to create this disk from a 2nd party pc because he is not able to get online to get these drivers himself.

First, don't use the Download Manager ... ever. Since you already have, delete all your Dell "cookies" and choose to download Via Browser.
Second, just make sure you install the System Software first:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&releaseid=R121089&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=6317&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=5&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=7&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=161321
Then the Chipset:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&releaseid=R58201&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=3268&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=27&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=70069
After than you can install the following:
Audio:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&releaseid=R94481&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2430&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=3&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=122481
Ethernet:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&releaseid=R78727&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=4030&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=5&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=103900
Video (choose the actual graphics option you have ... if you are unsure, go to Device Manager (right-click My Computer, Manage), right-click on the Display device or Unknown device, Properties, Details tab, Hardware Ids from the dropdown menu, and give us the VEN and DEV ID's):
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WW1&catid=6&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&hidos=WW1&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=True&scanConsent=False
If you are missing anything else in Device Manager at this point, let us know what VEN/DEV ID's you are missing.
