CyberLink PowerDVD Error 24
I recently--as in, three weeks ago--received my Alienware m17 laptop. For various reasons, I had to do a complete reinstall of everything, including the CyberLink software from the disk that came with the machine.
When I tried to watch the 2014 World Series film, I got the following error:
"AACS License Key Update: An important component of CyberLink PowerDVD requires periodic updates. New movies may not play back if the component is not updated now. Would you like to update now? (Error code = 0024)" There is a yes and no button. When I click yes, it spins for a minute before the same message pops up.
I found a thread here from 2 years ago that noted that PowerDVD 9 is 3 years out of support. Am I completely stuck? Why is Dell shipping systems with software well past EOL?

nmwallace,
Click the link below to visit the cyberlink forum post. On one of the post a user provides information on what they did to resolve the error and update. I am not sure if this relates to your issue. It may be worth a shot.
You must update cyberlink powerDVD to continue playback of this content
