Dell 1907FP Vista Driver????

I have tried the Dell vista driver but they dont work. I tried installing the .INF but i cant an error message that the INF cant be installed using this method. There is a M$ knowledge base article that says to run the INF in compatibility mode. Tried that and there is no option to do so. Has anyone run across this? How do i get the 1907P driver to install to Vista?

How did you install the driver?

Did you try doing it in Device manager?

Was it This driver?

I tried to install the driver according to the M$ knowledge base article. That driver has 3 files in the ZIP. I unzip them and try to manually install them by right clicking the INF file and choosing install. Vista does not like that at all. M$ says to right click the INF and choose properties, change the mode it gets run it to XP and then try the manual install again. THere is no place (tab) to change the mode under properties. Device manager does not show my LCD at all. I have tried to manually install from device manager and select the INF myself but Vista doesnt like that either. It gives me an error that the driver doesnt apply to any hardware i have. Currently i am using the PnP generic monitor from Windows. If i go into Display Settings, i see that listed but i cannot change any settings on the monitor itself. Here's a question.... do i even need this driver for full functionality? Here is my problem: I have an MSI board with integrated x1200 graphics adapter. It is the WORST adapter i have ever used. When i install the Catalyst Driver (latest driver) and reboot, when the login screen should appear, my screen goes black and the 1907FP goes from a green light to an orange. i can still hear the startup sounds though. I can go back into Safe Mode, disable the adapter, reboot, and it comes up fine using the VGA adapter with Vista. I just want to use my x1200 adapter with my Dell 1907FP. Anyone have any ideas? I thought maybe the monitor driver needed to be installed. Any help would be appreciated....

Thats the problem. its a brand new board with integrated ATI graphics. I hate to go buy a new adapter when there is one sitting on the board. I am in touch with ATI support. Apparently there are some problems with their integrated adapters and some TFT LCD's.... thats what the DELL 1907FP is.

I have never had any problems using the generic Windows monitor driver, I think your problem is with your Video card, you might consider replacing it.
