Dell Communications (Support Software) wants to install
Everytime I log into my account on my Dell Inspiron 1012 Nettop, periodically the "Dell Communications (Support Software)" wants to install.
it then pops up with a dialog box that wants me to install the Dell Communications (Support Software) disk into the CD-ROm {which I don't have on this nettop} and look for a file I believe is called DellComms.msi. If I cancel the installatin i get and Error 1706 and the installer cannot continue. But then after a bit it tries to install again.
Under installed programs I see that there is a Dell Communications (Support Software) listed but I'm afraid to uninstall it in case it hoses my wireless/network comm, etc.
When my husband logs in (he is administrator) this never comes up. How do I correct this issue?

That software is solely for the purpose of registering the laptop with Dell after buying it retail - has no other function. Fine to just uninstall it.
