Dell ControlPoint Security Drivers Installation Issue

I recently did a custom install from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit on my Dell Latitude E6500.  I am trying to install Dell ControlPoint Security Manager, but when I try to install the drivers, I get the following message: "This is not a supported system."  Dell tech suport won't help me because I purchased my laptop more than 1 year ago, i.e. before they were shipping out the Windows 7 upgrade option with the system.  I can confirm that my new system is 64 bit because my Computer properties displays "64 bit Operating System" under System Type.

FYI, I noticed that Device Manager shows my Broadcom USH w/ swipe sensor to be uninstalled, although I can successfully swipe my finger in the pre-boot manager and Windows 7 will boot up.  But, I can't install Dell ControlPoint Security Manager without the drivers and the drivers won't install

Any thoughts on a workaround?

Is your bios updated to the latest version?

Yes, I downloaded the 64 bit drivers and the application that you referred to.  The drivers start to install and towards the end of the installation I get the error message that I referred to in my earlier email.

I'm seeing the same problem with an E4300 running Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit.  Looking at the driver, I checked the included "version.txt" and it specifically mentions Windows 7 64-bit.  To prove the point I reloaded the E4300 with Win7 32-bit version and I was able to install the 32bit drivers.  I'm now reloading Win7 64bit and I'm trying to document the problem for Dell support.  Best guess at this point is the the installer is borked.  It shows to be new as of 2/11/2010 A15.

Okay, new wrinkle.  Now that I have reloaded (third time) Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit, I'm able to install the ControlPoint Security Driver Pack.  The only thing I can figure is that when loaded with Win7 32-bit, the the CP Security driver installer as a last step offered to update the "outdated" TPM module firmware.  I reloaded with Win7 64-bit and now the same driver installer that once said system not supported, now installs.  Odd on two counts since the 64-bit driver at the end also offered to update the "outdated" TPM module firmware and because this computer just shipped from Dell three days ago.  How outdated could the TPM have been.
