Dell DataSafe Local Backup - Restore Fail
I've just purchased an Inspiron 580 MT, Windows 7 Pro.
I ran the DataSafe Local Backup process to create the recovery Media. This used 2 DVDs, and I decided it would be a good idea to check the results by using them to restore the system. However, I thought it may not be a good idea to overwrite the current system, so I removed the 1TByte drive and used a 500Gbyte that I had available.
The restore process failed stating that I wasn’t using a 1TByte drive as the target.
Is there anyway to circumvent the drive size issue? I can see a real need to do this: if the “live” hard drive fails and I have to rebuild the system, and there is no 1TByte drive available am I totally out of luck?

No there is not any way to bypass this security feature. It has to be the same disk for the image to work. Remove the disks and store them in a safe place and go back to testing and enjoying your new computer! It would not be a good idea to overwrite the new computer's system. Don't take the chance.
