Drivers for what hardware ? Normally Dell is out of date on the video drivers from the get go, and we just get them current by going to the graphic card site. Same with the sound card, and modem. Only one I keep handy is the monitor driver from Dell.
I am wondering if there is a point when Dell stops updating their drivers for an old system? Or will they always provide fixes updates? It would be nice to know if I could just burn the latest drivers to a CD and not have to worry about wondering if there are newer versions out.
There is no timetable that I know of.
A couple of points.
1) If you burn CHIPSET, notebook system software (if applicable) and your network drivers, you can always download the most current.
2) Many driver updates impact few situations. In other words, there's no reason to put in the most recent if the one before works fine for you.
