Dell Inspiron Laptop Forgot Password, No Discs, No "Forgot Password" Option

My husband hasn't used his laptop in over a year and can't remember his password.

We don't have any of the discs.

There is no "forgot password" option.

Repeatedly hitting F8 during boot-up hasn't worked.

I'm on a time crunch--he goes into the hospital for a week in 2 days and i'm trying to get this fixed for him before he goes in. I've seen instructions to create a reset disc/USB but i don't have a disc or USB and won't have time to get one before he goes into the hospital.

Do i have any other options/ways to reset this password? TIA!
