Dell Support Center problems

Question

Yesterday, I suddenly began getting repetitive messages that Dell Support Center stopped working.  This would be happening every few minutes.  I restarted the computer several times, and it continued to happen. I finally uninstalled Support Center, but now when I try to reinstall, it goes through the entire install process, whereupon I get another 'Dell Support Center stopped working' message, the whole thing rolls back, and it is not installed. I have gone through the steps in the Wiki to manually remove the program, including the registry edits.  All of the files were deleted.  When I attempted again to reinstall, the same thing occurs. Support Center has been running just fine for months and months, no problems.  I am not aware of any recent changes to my computer that could have caused this.  When I tried to run 'System Restore' that failed, and I got the message that it was unable to replace one of the Support Center files. I am running Windows 7 on an Inspiron 1525. Help, please.

Those are the instructions I was referring to.  Did that--it does not work.
