Dell Vostro 260s Freezes on Boot
Hello, I am the owner of a vostro 260 slim tower base model. I have experienced almost no issues up until this point.
When I power the machine on, I am able to access the BIOS and boot menu, select the boot device and go. After that, windows begins booting as normal, but halfway through, it freezes, and will never finish. I have tried booting of a windows 7 DVD along with a W7 USB key. Booting off both have resulted in the same thing: freezing on startup.
I have completed all the basic troubleshooting such as running dell diagnostics, and testing different ram or hard drives. I am unsure of how to proceed, and would apriciate some insight from the community.

Hi Wade,
I would recommend you to follow the troubleshooting steps below:
1. Since you can boot into BIOS, check if hard drive is recognized in BIOS.
2. As you’ve mentioned you performed the diagnostics, please confirm the tests you ran.
3. If hard drive is not recognized in BIOS, load BIOS defaults and reseat hard drive.
4. Boot the system to Safe mode and check if the issue persists. To boot the system in Safe Mode, shut down the system and once you restart keep tapping the F8 key which would take you to Advanced Boot Option screen. Using the up and down arrow key, select Safe Mode to boot the computer into Safe Mode.
If the issue still persists, run Startup Repair. Yoy may refer to the link below to guide you throught the steps to run Startup Repair:

Hi ...
just wanna thank you for the services that you are providing for us and just wanna ask you that i have the same problem that you mentioned and did all the steps tha you said from changing Ram, Cpu, powersupply, taking off power supply and keep holding power button for 15 seconds and taking off electricity in Dell Logo and nothing and tried to reinsall the system but same thing hang on windows 7 booting logo... so please anything else can solve my problem

Dell Vostro 260s Freezes on Boot on windows 7 logo or windows10 (Starting windows)
on dell Community no one answered me for same problem not even dell people too i have thrown this Vostro 260s motherboard to Garbage in my Backyard for a Month. and bought a new one working fine.
one day i thought to resolve it and done" simply go to System configuration and Disable LAN Controller in in Bios" save F10 and restart.

And on Dell vostro Or Dell Inspiron 620-260s if you do not Have AHCI Bios Setting for SSD let me know.
