Dell Windows 7 Ultimate install disc

The hard drive on my wife's Dell XPS L502X has died and no files were backed up!

I have installed a new hard drive but need a dell recovery disc to load windows 7 ultimate back onto the laptop.

I live in the UK which appears to make this process more difficult than if I lived in the US.

Has anyone been able to get this disc from Dell and were you charged for this?

I have the licence key for the original windows installed but the laptop is now out of warranty.

I would much rather have the dell recovery disc than go down the route of trying to install via a windows iso.

Hi TheHighlander,

We can send you the Recovery Disk for Windows 7 to re-install it. However, you may have to pay for it as you are in UK since the support varies from one country to the other and I would have to get that checked once. So please Private Message me your contact information along with account holder's name on it for verification and last but not the least, the Dell Service Tag number or the Express Service code of the computer.

Do not post any personal / account information here on the open forum.

Jyotpal F hasn't been active on the Dell Community since the end of October.

As you are in the UK you can procure the Reinstallation DVD by calling Dell Technical Support (UK), although its technically software I would call the first number:

Otherwise you can clean install using a Windows 7 .iso from Digital River and the activation Backup and Recovery Program see here and here:

You may also find my Windows Reinstallation Guide useful which will help with the installation:
