Dell Wireless Keyboard / Chicony OSD Service using up handles on Windows 7 Pro x64 box!
Hello,
I purchased a Dell Vostro 260s desktop in April 2012.
It runs Windows 7 Professional (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601).
It came with the following "Dell Wireless Desktop Keyboard and Mouse Bundle - Black -Ship in Box English Vostro"
I notice that the Chicony "OSD Service" version 1.0.0.1 (filename OSDSrv.exe) is consuming 64,411 handles!!!
And I rebooted only yesterday!
The location of the OSDSrv.exe is:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Dell KM632 Wireless Keyboard Caps Lock Indicator\
Thoughts? Help? etc.

Oh, I get it now; I had not realized that this, ahem, "software" was simply to give feedback / On Screen Display status of the keyboard CAPS lock, etc.
Apparently my wireless keyboard does not have little lights for such things.
So I simply removed the "Dell KM632 Wireless Keyboard Caps Lock Indicator " software from my box. Problem solved with the good 'ol sledgehammer approach!
Maybe I will try some freeware like "Keyboard LEDs" to replace the Chicony OSDSrv.exe "software."

Followup: I finally installed "Keyboard LEDs" from download.com and that gives me good OSD feedback for my caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock -- and consumes a regular amount of handles. I recommend this software if anyone else runs into this problem.

It eats all available memory + swap. In my case it was 12 Gb.
