Your service tag in in the Bios, if it's not attached to the computer. I don't know how to transfer the ownership from another country to the US. You might want to make a new thread about that in the DELL New to the Community? and maybe someone can help you there and/or maybe the Liasion there will see it and be able to help you with that.
Do NOT post your service tag here as it contains personal information and Dell will remove the thread.
Thank you. I have already done so as you have instructed regarding the backup discs. I just received a reply that they can't find my account based on the service tag i gave them. I am pretty sure that the service tag is correct but there is an issue I think may be possible why they can't locate my account. Although I am the original owner of the product, I bought this unit in Singapore, since then I have moved to the United States. Hope they will still service me.
If you live in the United States and are the origional owner, Dell will send you one backup set of disks. Just click below my signature and request a set. It will most likely have the operating system that came with the computer.
Slipstream Vista seems way over my head. Not as easy as XP was. I decided to just use the disks. I made a disk using vLite and backed up my drivers using Wndrvrbckup Backup Utilities I also managed to have some of the hotfixes, but it can be a hassle. To install SP2, I used the standalone version for CD, as I have a few computers to install it on.
